In 2010, Sony Corporation and Conservation International teamed up to bring compelling 3D photography to Suriname's Central Nature Reserve in South America. Sony provided Conservation International with NEX-5 interchangeable lens digital cameras with 3D capabilities to capture some of the first-ever 3D images in the area.
The forests of Suriname play an important role in mitigating the effects of global climate change. Conservation International and Sony hope that by sharing these 3D images with people throughout the world, they'll be able to further spread the knowledge and contribute to the field of biodiversity conservation. For more information
Sony Electronics Inc. has joined forces with other Sony group companies partnering with SAPESI in support of the South Africa Mobile Library Project, a part of the South African Department of Education's efforts to improve literacy levels across the country. Employees have donated nearly 1,000 books for children supporting the project.
